program writing

Quote from bitrend:

You better go with www.tradestation.com what will save your time and effort from design/coding yourself. You will avoid software bugs since their software is tested and reliable. You only need to learn EasyLanguage to make your trading strategy be understood by their software and you can test your strategies before going with real hard earn money.

Just to let you know that I'm not promoting TradeStation, I have no business with them, it's just I found useful and make sense with the current society. Automation will gain more and more popularity in the future. Wall Street will be used with new weapon, however strategy remain the same as it was 400 years ago.

would you say easylanguage is easy to learn quickly?

No, they should change its name. Probably easy to learn when comparing to other programming languages but in reality it's not straightforward.

I would be interested if we have anyone on ET who works with MATLAB for financial engineering. I would like to develop a cash and carry program with currencies using barrier options, but I'm not fluent in Matlab programming code for datamining or black-box creating. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

By the ways, the instruction that you will give to TS software will not require a lot of LOC (Line Of Code). You convert your strategy into EasyLanguage then the software will take the rest. As said, it's not guaranty to be profitable, it strictly depends on your strategies, not TS. Its purpose is to save your time and effort from designing/programming your own software and let you having time to only concentrate on your strategy.
