ProfLogic's Method

To be more helpful, here are the hidden settings for people to be able to code their own charts. As noted, my chart used these parameters assuming the indicator I imported into NinjaTrader was correct. I previously used Tradestation and/or multicharts which may be easier to code.

Quote from RhinoGG:

Ergodic Formula
by Howard Arrington
The Ergodic formula is a ratio of two double averages. The numerator is an average of an average of the Net. The denominator is an average of an average of the Absolute value of the Net. The Net is the difference between a bar's close and the prior bar's close.

Ergodic = (Average (Average (Net, parameter 1), parameter 2) / (Average (Average (Abs(Net), parameter 1), parameter 2)

but when i code this, the result is always 1.

r = 49
s = 147
u = 49

Histogram scale(multiplier) =3

These are for Multicharts but try: AVE 1 = 49, AVE 2 = 147, AVE =49

343 & 2401 are the number of contracts traded per bar.

They are multiples of 7 which is prime.

Not exactly: eventually is Proflogic that is going to contact you...after you contacted him :)

I did send him a pm. I will await his response.

Anyway, I hope these settings that I posted will be helpful for anyone else coding in a different chart program.

Prologic, I am a real human not a bot. Please give me a copy for multicharts when you get some free time.

Thanks in advance.

From what I understand after re-reading this thread again, for going long you look at price making for example a higher low once direction is known, then you confirm that the erg indicator has also made an extreme bottom before taking a trade long.

Exit can be made at previous resistance top and/or the erg has made an extreme top.

Some of man's greatest discovers have come from accidents.

In regards to simply posting the ERG's, well that isn't always possible. The ERG I have in MultiCharts is password protected but I give it to any real human who asks . . . for free. This way I at least know who is using it. The tradestation is a program written by one of my students. He's allowed me to give it out, again, for free but I likewise prefer to to give it real humans who ask for it. I really don't mind sharing but I have been burnt before so I think I have a right to track where my stuff goes that I give out for free.

I sent you the username and password to load the indicator into MultiCharts. The indicator is embedded into MultiCharts already.

Follow Tums links for a detailed description of the rules.

Can you re-send it or use pm function instead since my stupid free e-mail account bounced the 1st message.

Thanks

Decent move in the DAX futures today, using Proflogic's method.

I assume that the settings for Ensign that have been posted over a year ago are still valid:

Ave 1: 49
Ave 2: 49
Average: 147
Histogram Spread: 3
