Consistently making money is what few can do in this business, soon enough you will thank your lucky stars you dont have to work for a cocksucker. Most bosses are, you get treated like a child. Im talking people making $500k+ at an i-bank treated like serfs and children. It sucks whatever you think. Hype is hype and most in the USA have little base in reality about how the world works and thinks TV resembles reality. Couldn't be further from the truth. If you want to run money then do that. Get a prospectus, get out and raise funds. What i am suggesting is 1) get out a little, get an office in a vibrant area 2) dont do anything stupid and 3) get a hobby

I love the markets and reading them. I wish the market was open now to trade.
I run a not yet profitable organic food restaurant and my current family eats here two meals a day. I have four kids, age from 1 to 17 from two marriages to support. I mentor three junior traders who lives in China. I also pay salaries to a few Engineers and manager for my other projects. So, I am grateful that I am a consistently profitable trader, the money is essential.
...Since trading is a lonely profession and essentially 'meaningless' in and of itself, I think it's an occupation which enhances these kind of feelings. It's also a possibillity that some of us are predisposed to this kind of thinking and search for some deeper meaning where others don't.
So, maybe see if some of my advice on expanding your trading can help you OR try to consider your trading as simply income (which is what jobs are to most people) and find something else to give you meaning.

I think you meant to say that those trading from home as a retail trader or in an environment when there's no other interaction...its a lonely profession.
In contrast, traders that are professionals and trading at a financial institution...its not a lonely profession.
I think retail traders that are lonely should strongly consider trading from an office with others or something like coworking places...that would resolve the loneliness issue.
Yet, the meaningful issue can occur with anyone that doesn't know how to value their job occupation. I've heard people say what they do is meaningless that are doctors, nurses, construction worker, tax accountant, postal clerk, architect, real estate agent, graphic art designer, painter and so on.
That tells me there's a possible mental issue...maybe something like depression especially if there's other issues in their life in which they feel the same way (e.g. relationship with family members).

Excuse my simple thinking. But any trader is who is consistently profitable and make ALOT of money year after year, and complaining is either lying about making money or just simply bullshiting monkeying around showing off to the ET members.
If I was a consistent profitable trader, I would be a more happy satifised person and blessed I can provide for my family in a comfortable setting with no annoying manager and co workers. And I would want to mentor my fellow retail traders. I would NOT be complaining about a damn thing on this earth.
Perhaps, the OP needs to go find a full time job to relieve some bordem. After 3 months working full time, his/her ass will be running back to his/her trading desk faster than rabbit gets fucked.

It's always been my belief that if you're a successful trader by manual entry, then you can fully automate what you do to the degree that you're still profitable per instrument. But now, what you've gained in the process is scalability.
Who wouldn't want a tireless, super fast PC doing your trading drudgery while your job gets reduced to babysitting your personal ATM for the occassional technical glitch?

Thanks for the moral support. My problem is I don't think what I am doing have any real contribution to society, it is like playing Monopoly.
