How long did you take to become a profitable trader?

When did you find your edge and stop having outsized losses.

In my first 3 months of trading, I never used charts. I would simply buy what seemed like nice assets and cross my fingers hoping for the best. I was the classic retail amateur. By the way, I'm still a student of the market and will forever be, but I'm a lot smarter now. It has been a long journey.

I'd say the outsized losses aren't an issue if they are compensated by even more outsized gains. Bottom line is what I care about and go out of my way to free my mind of the woulda, coulda, shoulda of the day.
 
Over 3 years. In Between so many ups and downs, now proud to call myself a profitable trader. Still have a lot to learn on this journey of trading. Hope things go well.
