Professor suspended for saying 那个 nà ge

At least the professor didn't say "Grab her by the 猫"

Lol, I cannot read that, but obviously can interpolate it. That's funny.

Unfortunately, it means the Q-Bert arcade game will also probably be cancelled.

Geoff Garrett became Dean at USC in June moving from a more prestigious position over at Wharton. He is an Aussie but was 20 years at USC.

I have worked around universities enough (viperous nests for sure) to see game of thrones playing out, this has nothing substantially to do with the complaint itself which is patently ludicrous.

I don't know, just I KNOW :) this is really something other than its face value.

well, if he didnt say the N- word then, you better believe he is saying it now and how can you blame him.
another innocent man who the liberals turned into a racist.

I'm familiar with both and have heard both. The one I know is pronounced "nah-guh" and when said quickly its remarkably similar.

Yes true I have heard the nah-guh more often but even then the NAH is very clear.

If you are in Chinese speaking context why would anyone think it was the other word...this is kind if silly...

Reminds me a time years ago in a loud bar when my very large Black friend and I approached the bar and this guy in front was doing a shot and turned around to face us yelling "Jaeger!"...

We both paused for a second due to the loud music playing making sure we heard him correctly haha

Because the word 那个, which is pronounced very close to the N-word, was said by a professor the Dean at UPenn decided the best course of action was to suspend the professor for the transgression of speaking Chinese.

Yes, this is the result of Critical Race Theory. A generation of snowflakes are rewriting our language, and languages of other cultures as well. Don't tell them how you say "You" in korean! Soon entire languages may be banned!

Just remember:

The anguish and trauma is indelible in the hippocampus.

Ok I just heard the video and the professor butchered the word and it sounded nothing like Chinese
..
that is the real crime..who taught that guy Chinese haha
