Well,
I cannot speak for anybody else. But here is my reason-detre for going.
Last time I attended the Bright dog and pony show in Vegas, I had already seen most of what was discussed. I went for two reasons:
1) I wanted to see what other traders were trading to get a feel for new ideas for a future course of action
2) I wanted to see how the "old" strategies that had been taught at the first Bright class had changed. From this I could see how Bright traders were evolving their core strategies
3) I solodified my understanding of Opening Only strategies, both from watching Don, and from watching Earl trade them.
4) A totally unexpected surprise. I have known for a long time that there is NOTHING like being face to face with a Grandmaster in any endeavor. Bob Bright decided that he was going to offer some insights into trading. He talked alot about different things, but eventually, he talked about a particular stock and the way he traded it (and this stock was an example of some facts that were stated in the general session - REITS.) When I got home, I immidiately put this ticker up on my montage. I watched it carefully, and even did some small pair trades (also came home with more confidence on how to find correlated stocks for pairs.) To make a long story short, this small nudge that Bob gave me in this direction has paid for all the Bright classes 7 times over, and I do not expect that it will stop making me money any time soon.
IMHO, at the risk of being cliche-ish, you will get out of it what you bring to it. I did not expect the world from the Brights (in fact I expected NOTHING,) but I ALWAYS tried to read between the lines of what they were saying. I cannot stress this enough when you go and listen to any trader worth his salt, ecause although I do not believe any trader will reveal DIRECTLY what they do, I got the feeling that the Brigths genuinely wanted to give people something for their money. You just had to LISTEN.
This time, it sounds like there are going to be new terrific traders to exchange ideas with!
