KBIO was halted after the ceo was arrested. I got charged 150% interest on the prior close $20 price for over a month. Even when it fell to a few bucks when it resumed, it was still a big loss.

Some brokers charge ridiculous fees for overnight short positions. Mine use to be 8x overnight borrow fee but they changed it to 4x after my rant post.

But you are right prolong halts would usually be bad. (Didn't weigh in overnight interest when making that comment.)

Ideally, halts that last between 1hr > before market close if your in a short position.

Short selling without risk management is a no-win situation. To avoid the pitfall of losing your money, you must do proper risk management. This is the best way to turn shorting into a rewarding endeavor.
