Producer Prices Surge Most In Over Four Years As BLS Discovers Food Inflation

"To sum up, a stagnant monthly PPI report means little or nothing to consumers."

Stagnant is good.

First, "good" means beneficial. Stagnant in a position where consumers are struggling, isn't good. I realize you're positively desperate to find some way to spin this, but it's only "good" if it helps consumers. Declining over a period of time would be good - if it made it's way through to the CPI. It hasn't yet - outside of retail gas prices. Wait, there you go, Ricter. A plus - gas prices are down considerably. That's a good for the consumer. Good job, Mr. President - right?

Of course, we haven't even brought declining real wages into this yet.

I view falling gas prices as more inflationary than rising prices. This is just like the consumer getting a rebate. That extra money is going to find its way into the economy.
