I'm, assuming that the program was stable several weeks ago and all of a sudden you got this error? Since reinstalling the program shows no progress, may be a dependent system file got corrupted. Try checking your hard drive.
In WinXP, do the following:
Error-checking
My Computer | Right click hard drive| Tools| Error-checking
Check both options.
On warning message, just agree to check on reboot.
Reboot and be patient as it checks your hard drive.
Do this for your main drive. If your program is installed on a separate partition drive include that one as well.
For advanced users, you can accomplish the same error checking procedure by doing the following Run | Cmd | Chkdsk /F /R
Again, be patient and give it time to check your disk. It can take hours depending on the size of the drive.
If the Check disk procedure fails, go into System Restore and rollback to a previous stable date.
Start | All Programs | Accessories | System Tools | System Restore.
