And creating fresh entitlement programs was sheer stupidity - on both Bush and Obama's parts. Looking at the CBO figures, we could cut defense spending completely and tax the top 5% of wage earners at 90% and the progress would take decades (literally) to make up the forward entitlement obligation differential.
