Pro Golfer: Why Work with a 63% Tax Rate ?

Quote from denner:

Completely agree...but this is how many liberals try and talk around the truth about the "total tax burden". When I hear them go on the full court press about returning to some Clinton era tax rates, I want them to take a look at the COMPLETE tax picture..figure out every single tax you pay in a year and then compare it to the 1990's...it's not even funny (and don't even get me started on the amount of inflation since then)...or ZIRP, etc, e tc..

Liberals like to get people lost in the details. I've closed the loop around that whole discussion many times: The total budgets of all the public sector entities of the United States have budgets over half the GNP. That is not counting the unfunded stuff... So they are already getting more than half the GNP and at all levels they don't have enough money. That is all I need to know when it comes to deciding where to live.

To answer the question posed in the headline: you work because it gives you self-worth and dignity.

'ya think? So some baseball bat union picketers with bragging rights about being connected to labor extortioners are about the dignity of mankind?

Quote from WhiteOut56:

You cannot say that 100%.
I cannot stand this liberal regime, howveer it's very important to realize, that without a flow of $ going from the rich to poor, the gap between the rich and the poor will magnify. Of course we aren't even near that point.

the money can flow from rich to poor... without there being an income tax.
govt has massive revenues without the income tax.
a large portion of the income tax goes to paying the interest on the debt.
why bother with interest on the debt? why bother with personal income tax.
