I think the banks become parasites in the time of this housing bubble starting 2006. I am not saying banks always parasites.

Who have the job to understand risk? The banks. Who go to the (unregulated) market to make many bad loans because they do not care? The banks. Why this banks do not care? Because this loans is packaged to sell, and off the books for them.
They make really big money fast, and put the risk on other countries, other banks.
Where is the banks obligation to their country to care about their people? Where?
I do not hate banks, I do not have problems with loans, or my house. For me and my family we are content But I can see this banks become parasites in one time in your country.

If you're running a business and your loyal, wealthy customers ask to buy some dogshit, what are you going to do? Tell them no? Your customer might threaten to go to a competitor and buy his dogshit. Banks did not have many options.

An old customer of mine told me about the same thing when he didn't pay me the final check on a job. He was a truck driver and broke down in Colorado, he said he didn't have any choice except to use his insurance check to fix his truck instead of pay me.

Since we're on peace love and goodwill toward man, country and dog (sheesh, I'm really into dogs today). What is the unions obligation to business? How about those teachers union? What's their obligation to the "children"? Gd unions bite the hand that feeds them.
