PrimeXBT Crypto Market Report: Bitcoin’s Post Halving Actions Spells Volatility But Bullish Tendencies as Decoupling From Stocks Seems Evident

This is, of course, a substantial change for the mining ecosystem which has to now deal with a lot less profitability, but the greater impact on the market is still to be seen. The movement before the halving was bullish and positive, and now, following the event, the momentum is still bullish — but the volatility is back.

Bitcoin managed to cross $10,000 before the halving, and while it has not seen that level again, it has dropped to the lower reaches of $8,000 but also managed to get back close to $10,000.

It also looks like the halving is pushing the designation of Bitcoin more towards being an asset and less of a currency, and this move is actually helping the coin decouple from other assets, notably stocks, as the narrative that Bitcoin is a hedge against the currency market conditions gains more momentum.

But can you explain to me, why it makes sense to trade Crypto - CFD's against a bucketshop when literally everything you need is 50 bucks in crypto to trade real products against a real counterparty with direct access to a real exchange?

Execution speed is slow, spreads are high, (financing) fees are ridiculous.
Can you enlighten us?

1) Bucket shop. If you are trading peer-2-peer through the exchange where you see an order book, and this gives you a feeling that you are trading with real counterparty - you are terribly wrong about how "real" it is. Majority of exchanges have their in-house marketmaking bots which fill up the order book from both sides (bid and ask). Such algos give a feeling to all inexperienced traders that they are trading with other exchange participants. And since there is a lot of action in order book - there is probably a lot of traders out there. Unfortunately, reality is different, liquidity is much lower than u see. All the reported volumes you see - are mostly a "washtraded" by the same bots.
Try placing larger order size and you will notice how order book depth will vanish. Thats why using a company with aggregated liquidity instead of internal matching can be beneficial.

2) Trading fees. Financing - yes, it can be high when the market volatility is out there, but if you are trading in-an-out your don't usually bother with swaps. PrimeXBT is mostly for active traders, rather than buy and hold investors. Spreads are dynamic. Most of the time our spreads are lower than market average. Also, kindly keep in mind liquidity. Try to execute a 20 BTC order with us and with another "real exhange". You will be surprised.

3) Variety of features. Old fashioned crypto-crypto trading platforms are stuck with their current product offering. Pls dyor and see how many features PrimeXBT implemented during the last year or so. Crypto exchanges offer Btc and Eth trading plus hundreds of worthless altcoins where 99% of them are unregsitered securities with no economical sense.
PrimeXBT allows its users to access variety of markets, not only crypto. Hedge it with Gold, trade FX, short Indices. All btc settled. And you may already now what advantages BTC offers as currency (generally speaking).

We are not marketing to US residents. USA residents are not allowed to use PrimeXBT trading services along with othe restricted jurisdictions which you can find in our Terms and Conditions.
We believe that EliteTrader is international forum with participants from all over the world, correct me if I'm wrong.
In fact, you can't even register if you are a USA resident (no such country in the list during the registration procedure).

It all depends on the contract you are trading. For BTC there is a such financing rate was applied due to Halving week and increased volatility.. This rate is dynamic and may change depending on market conditions.
It also depends on our counterparty conditions. For example on ripple the financing is extremely high, but this is because we are getting high overnight rollover rates ourselves.

At the same time, here are the Financing rates for some other instruments:

ETH, LTC - 0.04% (5 times less than current BTC rate)
Indices/Comm synthetic - ±0.027%
FX synthetic (majors/minors) - 0.00411%

As you see these are much lower.
