Primal / Paleo Diet

Quote from highballs:

Lean meats, fish, vegetables, no grains, no starches?

Is this it?

Doesnt have to be lean meats. But grass feed clean meats is number 1.

Quote from Ticktaker:

There is no scientific studies that show "organic" to be anything other than a marketing ploy.

There's no evidence that organic foods have greater nutritional value, but there's a lot of evidence that they have less pesticide.

"It's clear, however, that conventionally grown food has remnants of pesticides on it. A 2002 study in the journal "Food Additives and Contaminants" showed there are more pesticide residues on conventional than organically grown food, even after the food is washed and prepared. There's also clear evidence that pesticides can get into people, a major reason Environmental Protection Agency regulations exist to keep farm workers from entering recently sprayed fields."

Apples, strawberries, peaches, blueberries, grapes, spinach, kale, lettuce (leafy greens), bell peppers, potatoes, celery are just a few that are notoriously high in pesticide and insecticide. Can't gp wrong going organic with them!

I was watching A show where they were talking about a man they found frozen thousands of years ago in Europe. They found meat in his stomach and they could tell from his blocked artery damage he had been a big meat eater. I'm guessing all the game back then was grass fed. I had always heard grass fed was healthy and wouldn't of guessed men eating Only wild game would have heart problems.

Processed foods are killers. Anywhere you find high levels of processed foods you will also find epidemic levels of obesity, diabetes, heart disease and cancer.

It's horrifying to me that more people in our society don't realize this.

I'll try to find it later and post it here if I do.

Do you mean Otzi the Ice Man, the Stone Age man found in the Alps? I watched this one a couple weeks ago, very interesting:

http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/nova/ancient/iceman-murder-mystery.html

But it was more about examining his body to figure out the murder mystery, I don't recall them specifically talking about plaque buildup. I do recall, they examined his stomach contents and there was a bunch of meat, like he had eaten a big meal before being killed.
