Quote from NihabaAshi:
Some traders use volume and are consistently profitable.
Some traders don't use volume and are consistently profitable.
What's the debate about again?

Its about the price volume relationship and how the relationship is used to continually refine the practical use of the relationship to become more profitable.
There are many things about participating in the financial industry that turn out to be counterintuitive.
There are some basics, too. Volume is an improtant raw data input that begins the monitoring and implimentation of trading strategies that are most advantageous.
I speak from an optimization point of view which is way beyond the consistently profitable level of skills. It has been well demonstrated that anyone who chooses can make money in markets. Using the raw data available is what makes optimization possible. Anyone doing optimization is required by reason to have to use the data which is available.
