Price action , support resistance does not work in ES

I took a snapshot of the ES and MES - D.O.M. - please notice where I said - "Need Ratio". Many years ago - I coded the Ratio on NinjaTrader - had it on my Chart. I wanted the Ratio for the Bid and Ask - or Buy_Sell - whatever they want to call it. If the Ratio was at a Very Minimum - of 1.5 to 1 or Larger (preferably) - on the Ask Side - the Odds are - I could Scalp it for a Tick or Two easily - and believe it or NOT - I would BUY. So if the Bid Side Ratio was 1.5 to 1 or Larger (preferably) - I would Short. Please notice - on the Bid or Buy Side - I use Red - and on the Ask or Sell Side - I use Green - a simple use of color to indicate what I mentioned above. To me - Red means Short - Green means Buy.

The following - I believe I mentioned - in the Tradestation Forum - if anyone here has Tradestation - they can try to find it.

I used the analogy - in terms of Real Estate - if the Sellers (ASK) are in Control - they want a Higher Price and the Market will go UP - and if the Buyers (BID) are in Control - they want a Lower Price and the Market would go DOWN. It sounds Backwards - but - all you need to do is watch the D.O.M. - it should still work. But the key - is the Ratio. I actually figured it out - on the old Patsystems J-Trader - but coded it on NinjaTrader - which I don't use anymore.

The thing is - a trader needs to be Fast - once you see the Ratio - you need to React Quick - you do NOT want to Over Think - what you are going to do - if you do - you will LOSE. One thing that you need to be aware of - "Big Money" - will Add and often Pull Contracts off the Bid or Ask - and they do that - to try to Pull Price - Up or Down.

I second this method, I used to trade this way; but found recently it is not as effective, so, I just subscribe to the one level top of the book quote so that I can ignore the ratio.

I haven't traded using the D.O.M. - for many years - since the number of contracts on the ES - the Bid_Ask levels - went from Hundred_Thousands on each Level - down to Tens_Low Hundreds on each Level. However - the Ratio is what was important for me - so - I suppose if the Ratio is right - it may still work. The Inside Bid and Inside Ask - also needs to be considered. And - I used it for Fast Scalping ONLY - see the Ratio - hit the Bid or Ask Market Order - NO Limit Orders.

As I said in the thread - I used Tradestation at the time - I posted information in the TS Forum - which I think should be under VSTscalper - but not sure. I coded the Ratio on NinjaTrader - TS was too slow.

LOL just did a search and came across what I believe was your last post where you talked of shorting TradeStation's stock back in '09. Though I understand your frustration with their customer dis-service completely. Luckily I'm still able to make things work.

If I recall - probably my last post was something like - "if I had the money - I would Short Tradestion down to Zero - and shut it down" - is that what you are talking about? That is when the Cruz Brothers still owned it - think they sold out to a Japanese company. If many traders were having the same problem - TS would still blame the trader - wouldn't take responsibility.

During that time period - I started using NinjaTrader and MultiCharts. I used NinjaTrader for Scalping Futures - but eventually stopped using NinjaTrader - still use MultiCharts. I think all platforms have problems at times - especially when they come out with updates. I am having that problem right now - with MultiCharts - and that does cause problem because I am also a Developer - with some big clients. Of course - I do screw up myself at times - and cause my own problems - but I am not going to tell anyone that I do that - especially in a forum - whoops - damn it - I did it. Actually - if I were to be Totally Honest - I did screw up some code one time - and the damn code worked better than before.

I was experimenting with an idea once, some code which I then shortly decided was dumb so discarded. Some weeks later thought I would revisit the idea - don't know why - just a niggly idea it might work, and it is now the backbone of my main algo.
Been running it two years.

Not sure if you have seen my thread - but I had something similar happen. I eventually looked at the code again - decided to give it a better look. It is what I call my Bizarro Code - pictures are on my thread. I went back - took a serious look at what I had coded - now it is one of my favorites. I finally understood what I had done - but really didn't expect it to work as well as it does. After I first develop it - I almost threw it away.

Kind of funny - the trader that started this thread - "spudpei" - looks like he or she lives just a few miles from me. I sent a Private Message - but there hasn't been any response - unless I didn't do it right.

There is currently a huge number of new subscribers joining ET which seems to be some sort of campaign going on which are not genuine.
You can spot them: Responding to posts from years ago. Stupid one or two liner new posts with dumb content. Mentioning fx. Mentioning fx brokers. Creating new posts and then not replying when asked technical questions.

Prolly they are unaware there is a message. Not sure if the forum send an email to let one know?

But since they are a newbie here (2/1/21 join date) they're likely not in the habit of checking back here often?

I notice though many topics started but new members that are drive-by posters. Here today gone .... today. Not saying OP is another.
