I had quite an interesting trade in the 10 year futures on the 1323 EST 1 min bar.
I was pretty much done for the day having already bagged my daily limit and was only watching and trading a single ZN lot to kill some time before retiring for the evening (I'm in a different time zone than EST). Due to the spike down into the lows of the day, I knew that a test of the double 00's was a given and that it was almost a given that this test would fail the first time. This trade is money in the bank.
So, I put in an order to short 1 ZN at 114 295. I wanted 115 020, but due to missing an entry by a 1 tick a few times on this day, I gave myself an entry that was bound to be hit. I paused for a second to glance at a news item and then came back to see that I was in. I put the order in when the ZN was trading at 114 235. I thought for sure it would take about 30 minutes to be filled but it was filled within seconds. Now here's the deal. In that one bar, it must have gone up and down the bars range 4 times, maybe 5. It was like watching a drag race green light count down, i.e. 12 lights blinking on/off one by one then coming back up. I kid you not, you could have traded the entire range of that bar at least 3 times.
On a side note, that activity as well as a volume bar chart told me that something was up and that the low was in. I wanted to go long there but my wife was bugging me about staying up too late.
Also note the yellow inside bar.
