Price Action Journal V1.5

Quote from TXGrillGuy:

JW,

I do apologize for just now seeing your question to me. Okay, here's a link to the info I posted regarding pullbacks:
http://elitetrader.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&postid=2040958#post2040958

Take a look at the chart I've attached. To keep things fluid for this thread, I used 10000V for the chart. But use any interval you want and then measure out pullbacks from recent Swing Pivot Highs and Lows (aka, most recent market structure).
I'm just adding a little oregano to the sauce (price action). Now see how it taste.
:)

Take care,
Tex

Thanks for taking the time to show me the illustration. Extremely helpful. I never knew what to do with the fib before. I played around with it a bit with this mornings chart and it had good results. A follow up question, a 38% is great, a 50% is the best, and anything above 50% is cautious. So would it be right to assume anything below 50 as good entry or only at those specific levels? Ie 25%.

Thanks

PS 2 trades this morning -2.25pts

Taken 5 trades today
Down 3/4 of a pt

1st (entered and stop on same bar), 2nd, & 4th all losers

3rd & 5th winners

Green lines longs
Red lines shorts
Blue lines exits

I wish SusannaDT, Stealth Trader & Anekdoten would come back and post more. This chart is a tribute for them as they really helped me turn around my trading.. (and don't even know it).

Thank you to all contributors at ET.

2 trades, both short.

Shorted prior day resistance near 1181 w/ 3BR entry. Exited on bullish 3BR confirmation. +7.5

2nd short, expecting former support & open range low becoming resistance. Anticipated the short w/ close stop to limit risks. Closed trade on bullish formation in 50 tick chart, expected a bounce from 1163 yesterday's close. +6

Could have held the 2nd short a little longer... but I'm just a beginner. I'm happy with the low risk trades that worked out.

Also gave Morgan Stanley a small beating w/ similar trading concepts.

Going to the office... then to golf course. Life is good today =)

Good trading all,

Stone

txgrillguy, and andas,

Thank you for your posts. Very informative.

andas (or anyone),

I'm trying out ninjatrader for 3 months and would like to use it with the anek techniques detailed here and other journals. Any links to where to locate the indicator setup? Just tell me where to search and I'll do it.

Regards,

John

John the basics of Anek's system is trending ie HH/HL. I have a indicator that points out HH/HL/LH/LL in tradestation. Although, it's not really needed to trade as the indicators are sometimes a little off. I can send you the TS codes, you can use it as a reference to program them in C# for NT. Read the AHG reference doc I posted a couple pages ago.

Cheers

Jimmy

Here are my trades so far today. Two trades, both short. Could hav eheld longer as usual, but that is my weakness. Total of around +10pts.

Question tho. There seems to be some differences in my chart compared to others and I can't figure out why. At 10:02 for example Stone has price at around 1185 whereas on mine its at 1168. We are both trading Sept ES at 10k bars. What gives? Am I having a mental collapse or is there something I am missing?

Tradestation doesnt built volume bars correctly. That is why yours is different. However, yours is correct.
