Hallie Biden — the widow of Joe Biden’s son Beau who later had a relationship with her brother-in-law Hunter Biden — received money from a deal with a Chinese company, according to financial records released Thursday by the House Oversight Committee.

According to the memo, Biden family associate Rob Walker reportedly orchestrated the $3 million deal with State Energy HK Limited less than two months after Joe Biden left office as vice president in 2017. The Daily Caller reports that the Chinese company is closely tied to the Chinese Communist Party.

While ranking member Rep. Jaime Raskin, D-Md., characterized the substance of the bank records as innocuous, referencing payments for miscellaneous purchases such as “Papa John’s” and “Starbucks," the memo notes that Walker dispersed more than $1 million of the Chinese funds to companies associated with the president’s son, Hunter and brother James, as well as directly to his daughter-in-law Hallie.
