clinton shows signs of being very smart. you can see he thinks in systems and understands most subject matter as well as anyone in the room. He even knows when to distort answers to make himself look good... but can't be challenged. The man is very smart. 150 1Q or above... imo probably.
Carter... while apparently he did well in school when carter has something to say now... its always some liberal non sequitor. He had no clue on how to lead. My conclusion is that he was smart enough to see problems but not smart enough to figure out correct courses of action.

For instance Christian preachers who really read the bible are always very quick to mention they are sinners too. The already know they are held to a high standard of accountability the last thing they want to do is screw up and and have their screw ups lead people astray.

Only an idiot would think Carter is not a good Christian. Is it possible he kills puppies and orphans when no one is looking? Yes. But only in your delusional world could this be even remotely true. What makes a good Christian? Praying?

Frankly, I don't Carter was a failure at all, and I don't see anything substantial that explains why people think he was bad president, except for the dumb notion that everything that happens during a president's term is the fault of the president. I don't call him a failure because he didn't have charisma or always licked his lips when he talked. I call him a failure because of things like the Iranian hostage negotiation and the subsequent disaster of a rescue attempt. Or negotiating a failed arms treaty with the soviet union, only to see them go into Afghanistan right after. Record interest rates, record inflation. Our allies thought he was a rube.
Carter is a nice guy. I genuinely believe out of all the democrats Presidents of the last 50 years, he was the one nice guy who wanted to do good. And washington ate him for it. And yes, that's his fault. The buck stopped there.
