The health care issue is with out a doubt strongly affecting Obama's polls. He has alienated true moderates who are skeptical about the governments role (Amazingly there are people out there who weren't organized by Limbaugh that are actually skeptical of health care reform.) Surprisingly he also has ticked off his base by recently showing to be a weak advocate of the public option in the hopes of regaining moderates.

In a way Obama is stuck in a massive lose lose situation. If he gives up the public option he loses his base. If he stays the course with the passionate rhetoric and the public option then he will not only lose moderates because they disagree with his policy but they will also start to dislike Obama personally because they will see him as a stubborn politician. Whether a republican or democrat a passionate politician is always a stubborn politician.

So what is Obama going to do? There is no question that his approval rating will dive further if he sticks to the public option and ignores the moderates. Even though Obama is very liberal he is also very cautious so my guess is that soon he will give up the public option. If he sticks with the public option his approval will sink to 45% most likely.

If you liberals out there really want somebody to blame other than fox news and talk radio then put your focus on the uninformed moderates who voted for Obama while being ignorant of his policies. After all they are the ones who created this strong backlash.

Obama Celebrating Ramadan Tuesday

A noteworthy update to President Obama's light schedule this week, considering the rumors about his religion that lingered throughout the 2008 campaign. From the White House guidance for Tuesday:

In the evening, the President will host a dinner celebrating Ramadan and highlight the contributions of American Muslims in the State Dining Room. The President's remarks will be pooled press.
 
Obama Disapproval Reaches New High

Public disapproval of the job Barack Obama is doing as President reached a new high of 42.4% in the RCP Average today.
On the flip side, Obama's approval rating of 51.2% matches his all time low in the RCP Average. Taken together, Obama's approval-disapproval spread is also at it's lowest point to date of +8.8 points. That is down from a +43.3 point spread at the beginning of Obama's term.

What a two faced lying POS that guy is, during the campaign he vehemently denies being a Muslim. And anyone who even mentions it is lamb basted. (So the not so bright won't hesitate to vote for his dumb ass.) Then a couple of months after the election he proudly proclaims how he's "proud of his Muslim roots". And now he's openly practicing Muslim religious rituals.

I bet before long he'll be shaking the dust off of his Sherwani Suit Jacket and Arabian Shora for news conferences, greeting foreign dignitaries and the like.
