By this time in 2001, the Bushies were already plotting to invade Iraq and were making up lies about Saddam hoarding WMDs and swapping love notes with OBL.

What you're arguing is "two wrongs make a right." That's perfectly in keeping with all else you've shown us here, mrheckylus. :D

It has recently become more popular in acceptance speeches than blessed.

Obama's use of the word was expected. It is part of every insincere acceptance speech.

Just watch sports center for a few weeks and you will see used by every athlete given an award.

I wonder, was Monica under his desk while that was being taped?

Quote from kut2k2:

I just don't think they cared when or how an attack on US soil would occur. They planned to take advantage of it and use it as an excuse to invade Iraq, which was the overall goal all along.

so, what was their endgame? "steal their oil" ?

Thousands of Al-Qaeda members were slaughtered in Iraq. The goal was pretty evident, stage a battlefield on which to slaughter these crazies.

Now, please remind me of how crazy Christians are, it's such good fun.

Quote from kut2k2:

Obama: "I am both surprised and deeply humbled."

hum·bled

1. To curtail or destroy the pride of; humiliate.

2. To cause to be meek or modest in spirit.

Obama was saying that he felt modest about being unexpectedly granted such a prestigious award and he recognized it was as much a call to act to deserve it as it was for past achievement.

That was my point. And by the way thanks for spelling out the obvious.

Just in case you still do not get it, no one is humbled when they are given an award. They are honored. People do not feel meek or modest when they win something.

A good example of being humbled would be if Obama was to say , that after his first night in the white house he was humbled when reflecting upon all the great men who had shared this home.

Since you don't know everybody who has ever won something, I won't take you word for this.

google "i am humbled by this award":

28,700 hits

Obama is far from the first winner to say this. Why be a complete dick about it?

Quote from Clubber Lang:

28,500 of those hits are Obama.
Nope. His name shows up once on the first page and nowhere on the next nine pages.

It's up to you to verify your claim with a more thorough search. :p
