President Trump's Executive Order on Preventing Online Censorship

My RedState colleague Nick Arama wrote earlier today about how Twitter is now “fact checking” President Trump’s tweets, starting with two he posted on Tuesday about how mail-in ballot voting is ripe for fraud, and has the potential of “rigging” the 2020 presidential election.

As Nick noted, a number of high-profile conservatives fact checked Twitter in response, debunking their erroneous claim that Trump’s statements about voting by mail were “unsubstantiated.”

White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany was another who pushed back hard against Twitter’s dismissal of Trump’s remarks on mail-in ballots, posting a series of tweets on the issue. Here are a few of them:

In 27 states, a voter can designate someone else to turn in their ballot.

This practice leads to BALLOT HARVESTING.

For example, the registrar in Orange County, CA “reported in 2018 that his office had ‘people dropping off maybe 100 or 200 ballots.’” https://www.wsj.com/articles/a-vote-by-mail-nightmare-11590189749 …

That's the whole point. You and I can be bothered as much as we want, but this doesn't give us any rights over Trump. The difference between me and you is that I'm not a dictator and I'm not trying to put myself above him or you, and I don't feel I should have the right to censor or suppress him or you.
Why would I be even allowed to act on anything that bothers me?
While if I want to have a website where I censor you, then I cannot claim immunity from the law when others sue me for any other content I'm allowed to let through.
The order simply states that you and I should be able to sue Twitter for anything we want, vs Twitter lying and claiming legal immunity due to supposedly being no different than a park where people speak freely.
Doesn't it bother you that any company has power to do anything they want with impunity and legal immunity, while lying that they're just maintaining a park where you and I can speak?
I can't help but notice you still are unable to admit that the President of the United States blatantly lying is reprehensible. The interesting thing is that you're clearly a rational and intelligent person, if you weren't you'd simply claim that Trump was speaking the truth. So you know that he's lying, you know it's reprehensible, but you just.. can't...bring...yourself to admit it out loud. Stop and think about what that says. I really really want you to think this through and realize that you're not hypocritical, you're not a sucker, you've not fallen under the thrall of Trump to the point that you'll tolerate no dissent...none of that is really you. If you came out and said that you agreed that Trump's lies about voting, the very foundation of our democracy, are utterly reprehensible and tearing the fabric if our country, but you still think a company protected from lawsuits shouldn't be able to control any content on their site, you'd be making a point honorably. I'd disagree with you and we could have an intellectually honest discussion about why I feel differently. But we can't have an intellectually honest discussion when you refuse to admit how very abnormal and in short utterly horrible it is to have our President lying about the election process. That's not honest, and I don't honestly think that's really you.

Let's be crystal clear here. Trump tweeted "The Governor of California is sending Ballots to millions of people, anyone living in the state, no matter who they are or how they got there, will get one". This is completely, absolutely, without any shred of doubt false. And you know it's false because what do you know, you don't even mention it in your lengthy post! How do you live with knowingly ignoring this completely unacceptable lie from the President, and not only ignoring it but then defending the guy and claiming he isn't lying? Surely you have some integrity?

ahaha.

You are funny dude. 95% of what the left publishes is against Trump. The vast majority is taken out of context or blatantly false.

Trump has been known to exaggerate to create commotion, which is exactly what he wanted and exactly what the TDS media did.

Nothing new.

I'm sorry, did I take that quote out of context? Did he not say that? No I did not, it's exactly what he said and it's not "an exaggeration", it's flat out false. Clearly you know that because you very pointedly ignored discussing it. So I'm at a loss as to why you think a claim that 95% of what the media publishes about Trump is false in any way makes this quote from Trump false or in any way acceptable(even if we did take that 95% claim to be true)? Have you lost your capacity for basic logic along with your integrity? Surely you're more intelligent and altogether better than this?

Do you have anything to contribute to the conversation or just trolling?

Sorry I can't help it. You're making me laugh. Everything you have said so far has been so ridiculous it cracks me up how someone like you could take the media so seriously.

haha. Are you for real? Deplorables have no integrity when it comes to liberals trying to steal an election.

But that is not the point. It would be a waste of my time to discuss anything related to Trump with you. I only wanted to point out that mail-in voting is indeed ripe for abuse.

How do I know? because that left will do anything to win, regardless if it is legal or not. If you don't believe me study Obamagate in detail.

Here is a good article so you can bring yourself up to date.
