President Obama: Do you really love America?

How could the President not love America ?

Scott Walker Dines At The White House

Well, this might prove awkward.

Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker (R) is scheduled to attend a dinner at the White House tonight, a spokesperson confirmed to The Huffington Post. The event comes less than 24 hours after the potential 2016 presidential candidate said he didn't know President Barack Obama's faith and a few days since he said he didn't know whether the president loved America.

The event, held on behalf of the National Governors Association, will be hosted by the president, First Lady Michelle Obama, Vice President Joe Biden and Biden's wife Jill. It will take place at the State Dining Room in the White House.

The dressy affair is held every year, and features remarks by the president to the gathering of governors. At last year's dinner, Walker found himself seated next to Biden, who is also considered a possible contender in the 2016 presidential campaign.

"Tonight we want to make sure that all of you make yourselves at home -- to which I'm sure some of you are thinking: 'That's been the point all along,'" Obama joked at the time.

No word yet on who plans to say grace. But Walker posted a photo with his son shortly before the dinner:

-- The White House released a transcript of the president's remarks.

"It’s wonderful to see you all here tonight. Harry Truman once called the presidency an 'enlarged governorship.' Of course, a few of you are hoping that he was right," Obama said, with Walker seated in the audience.

The president also spoke highly of America in his toast with the governors.

"So let me propose a toast -- to our citizens, to our spouses, to our families, and to what Thomas Jefferson once described as our country’s precious blessings, “its soil, its climate, its equality, liberty, laws, people and manners … which no other people on Earth enjoy," he said.

Scarborough: Nobody's Hair Was Catching On Fire When Bush's Patriotism Was Questioned

MIKA BRZEZINSKI: Josh Earnest was absolutely right. And quite frankly, I question the patriotism of someone who questions the president's patriotism without any policy that he's talking about behind there or any decision that he's made behind it just genuinely questioning his patriotism. He doesn't own 9/11. He was great during 9/11 but, my god, his comments were off the hook. They were crazy.

JOE SCARBOROUGH: Can I say I think they were off the hook, too? But again, I just have to bring up, again, if Democrats are going to beat their chest in self righteous indignation, I'm sorry. How many times have Democrats called George W. Bush or Republicans unpatriotic over the past 10, 15 years?

MARK HALPERIN: It's a huge double standard in the media.

SCARBOROUGH: It happens all the time.

HALPERIN: Every reporter has to look at this as a case and say this is a standard we're going to hold everybody to or a double standard?

SCARBOROUGH: Or just Republicans?

BRZEZINSKI: Something didn't seem off and random about it?

SCARBOROUGH: Yes, it seemed off and random but it seems off and random when Nancy Pelosi calls Republicans unpatriotic but nobody in the mainstream media notices or cares.

BRZEZINSKI: I did.

SCARBOROUGH: I didn't hear you going on a tirade any time Democrats call Republicans unpatriotic. Keith Olbermann on this network said some of the most horrific things about the president of the United States. I didn't see people's hair going up in flames then. You were certainly here when Keith Olbermann would say things at night on this network that would make Rudy Giuliani look like he was at a tea party.

BRZEZINSKI: I think that is a false parallel.

SCARBOROUGH: No, it's not a false parallel. And I heard nobody in the mainstream media's hair catching on fire going crazy. He got away with it for years.

HALPERIN: What if Dick Cheney had nestled the hair of a woman at the White House for 23 seconds. What would the reaction of the press had been?

BRZEZINSKI: I don't know.

SCARBOROUGH: Oh my god. What do you mean, you don't know. Don't play dumb.

BRZEZINSKI: I'm not playing dumb.

HALPERIN: Charges would have been brought against him.

BRZEZINSKI: It's how you do it. It's all in the delivery.
