“When I asked Eric about the potential danger of sort of rhetoric and the sort of the belligerence, he felt that it was … fair game in that it … was sort of the equivalent on the other side of the political discourse, or he felt that it was the right thing to do … because the election was stolen,” Alex Holder recalled to The Independent.

'Be a little patient': says Merrick Garland , will hold January 6th perpetrators accountable
“We intend to hold everyone, anyone who was criminally responsible for events surrounding Jan. 6, for any attempt to interfere with the lawful transfer of power from one administration to another, accountable. That’s what we do. We don’t pay any attention to other issues with respect to that,” Garland said.
Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.) has also expressed interest in the department pursuing charges against Trump.
“They have to made decisions about prosecution understanding what it means if the facts and the evidence are there, and they decide not to prosecute, how do we then call ourselves a nation of laws? I think that’s a very serious, serious balancing,” Cheney said.
