Yep. And the painful irony is that many of the ones leaving will be officers who are already vaccinated. As I said in my exchange with GWB when I started this thread, this is not just about being vaccinated or not. You cannot make some of this all go away just by showing that most people end out getting humiliated and strong-armed into being vaccinated. He said my suggestion that this was going to be hell for many was "laughable." And I said, we shall see who is laughing. And this has not even started yet.
You have officers there who are at retirement age. The mayor hates them, and the progressives hate them. And they are already trying to absorb the work of the ones who have already left due to lack of support from the city. Then you impose this slash and burn shiite on top of that. You think they are going to say, hey, I am vaccinated so I want to stay here even though I am retirement eligible. Heh. Dream on. The city doesnt have the legal authority to keep them from retiring anyway, and they know that and the city knows that but they dont like the attempt to mistreat and abuse them even more.
The City of Chicago thinks it is running the Hotel California there? Where you can enter but can never leave. Who knew?

As recent articles outline -- half of nurses are thinking of quitting because they are sick of putting up with violent unvaccinated Covid-deniers. They want better staffing, improved security, and higher pay to stick around. The nurses leaving the profession have nothing to do with Covid vaccine mandates. Nurses are already required to have a lengthy list of vaccinations including the flu shot every year.
