does anyone know how to successfully find preferred stock symbols on bigcharts.

use Google finance and type the ticker for common stock.
the list of preferred stock should be showing up under the text box.

i've been betting on preferred stocks and the return was good so far.

10% monthly?!? Are you serious? Where did you find about these preferred shares? I'm assuming these companies must be on the verge of going under if they're offering such huge dividends...
