Prediction - American is going to get one radical president or another

For instance I don't even expect trump to be conservative. He is not my first choice.
But, I do think he will be the first president in a long time to get what he wants done for the good of the country.

He won't have to be beholden to media spinners or establishment money.
Can you imagine what he will do to pelosi reid ryan and mcconnell if they don't put his agenda through?

In short I would prefer cruz... part of me hopes trump wins... because he more than anyone might be able to break the establishments hold on Congress.

By the midterms he might be a kingmaker. all those he says should not get votes... could be wiped out of office. It could be a glorious renewal of american politics. Term limits could be the best thing Trump could achieve for us.
Flat tax, balanced budget properly sealed border sane or no immigration til our people are working and off the govt dole...

All the simple things we have been voting for republicans for years for...

To claim that Trump's appeal is based on economics is the sort of marxist class theory analysis I would expect from Richter. i guess Bloomberg, with its far left slant, is close enough.

Trump's appeal begins and ends with one issue, immigration. He is the only candidate in either party who has a credible plan to get control of our borders and enforce the law. It's icing on the cake that he also is the only candidate with a credible stand on stopping the flow of potential terrorists here.

The fact that both parties bitterly oppose him on these issues has set up an outsider versus insider dynamic that also helps him with republican primary voters. They are seething with anger at the party leaders and that anger is only increasing. I honestly don't believe the leaders have any appreciation for how deep-seated the anger is. They thought they could dismiss Trump by trotting out things he said that supposedly were conservative heresy. Voters don't care because, as Ann Coulter pointed out, if we lose on immigration, nothing else matters because the entire country will turn into mexifornia.

While i doubt that Trump or Bernie will end up being the nominee, there is no doubt in my mind both sides are becoming more radicalised, the internet was supposed to be a great instrument to bring all of us together but instead it has created an atmosphere where ppl are becoming more and more divided.

Indeed...but the economy plays no small part...We've been in economic decline for years now and it certainly affects the "social mood"...It's just seething beneath the surface and alot of the politics reflect that...Looking back on the mid-late 90's and all of that "centrist" rhetoric sure looks like a once in a lifetime anomaly in retrospect.

Afaik, only trump. Sanders is in the ballpark but he's not talking bringing jobs back. Only taxing those with stakes in offshore manufacturing centres higher. This is not a solution. It's a bandaid

America is on the verge of a national debt crisis thanks to two decades of massive deficit spending. This was done to offset the gigantic hole in domestic economic activity resulting from Offshoring. Things might seem rosey now but that's only because America has benefited from over 20 years of putting today's prosperity on the national credit card

If the Offshoring problem isn't turned around by the next administration you can be guaranteed America will be the next Greece Italy Spain Portugal. It'll be sudden and swift and nobody will know what happened

If it weren't for the freebies (not really "free", of course.... but at the expense of American tax payers one way or another), we wouldn't have an immigration problem.

I agree, cut off all the benefits and the only people who would come here would be those who could take care of themselves, If someone isnt a drain on the system im in full support of them coming here and trying to better their life, hell its exactly what im doing, im here on a visa to save myself tax money, but i pay a ton of taxes, and dont use anything from the government (that im aware of, besides roades and brides.)
