Predicting randomness

Quote from steve46:

As usual you comment on a subject of which you know shit....

Read up on predictive determinism and spend a few years in philosophy class and then IF you have something to say, give it a whirl...Personally I am done babysitting for the evening..

Oh please, science is catching up with me after 300 years! The universe is an expression of the absolute's awareness of itself, there is no such thing as energy or matter, all is mind, there is nought else... when you have studied existence properly you will come to the same conclusions and realise the ultimate paradox that your brain does not house your mind, mind house's your brain... amatuer

OK so now we know at what time his meds are wearing off...

Science is "catching up to him" after 300 years...:D

Now if only he could "catch up" to this

Oh dear, the philosophy went over his head... how on earth did it clear the pointy bit on top?

There are other disciplines dear Horatio that you dare not dream of that far exceed science's embryonic stumblings in the dark, when I hear quantum physicists say the universe begins to look like a giant thought I know science is on the right track, but it is not the pioneer in this field ;)

Hard to believe that you are so far ahead of all of us, when you don't even understand basic statistics.....

Heh heh still fuming over that are you :)
Well dont sweat it Steve, you are at least among the majority when it comes to being blissfully ignorant of the nature of reality

Quote from Pekelo:

As much as I love philosophical discussions, what surprises me is that nobody has came up yet with a practical solution, with a very simple proof, namely with a prediction journal. Predicting the markets with a sufficiently high success for a longer period of time would surely put the discussion to rest.

Remember, it doesn't matter how many people think that markets are random, it only takes 1 guy who is able to predict to prove them wrong. Just like having 1000 golddigger trying to find gold on a mountain rumoured to have the yellow metal, just because they haven't been able to find any, that doesn't mean one day 1 guy can not come and strike gold on it.

What surprizes me further is the people who think markets are random. Unless they have a profitable strategy for random markets, if they really think they are correct and they can not be convinved otherwise, there is just simply no reason for them:

1. To have this discussion.
2. To be in the markets, after all they are unpredictable.

Also I wonder what those "random walk" guys think, how other profitable traders make money? They just make lucky guesses with good money management?

I happen to know a journal with daily predictions. It went for 6 months with a very high success rate. I would guess somewhere around 80%. There was a 4 weeks period when the guy who wrote it got pretty much everything right. Now he is either an incredibly lucky schmuck, or markets are predictable...

But then again, if you think that markets are random, that is fine with me, I need guys who are willing to take the other side of my trades....

Dear Dumbfuck,

I really appreciate the time and effort you put into going through my old posts. They are really gems, if I might say so. You will be a LOT wiser by the time you reach the 5000th.

But since our correspodence is not really fruitful, I have to say goodbye to you and your kind, you have just hit my Ignore list.

If you really think I could make money by charging for my advices (oh a compliment!), write me a detailed businessplan, and I will take a look.

Otherwise I don't want to keep you while you are learning, so arrivederci.

Abby

You might be wrong here.
If I remember it correctly , number of years ago( 4-5) there was a dude posting his index trading predictions and Pekelo and some others were working on the same thing. If Pekelo continued on that path he knows what's going on .
