I read somewhere that one ounce of gold would buy so many potatoes in 1900 and then compare that today .............AND as if by magic an ounce of gold will buy roughly the same amount of potatoes today !!
Surely there is a lesson to be learnt here ?
Gold hasn't increased it's value. The dollar etc. have just fallen in value, 'cos $1 doesn't buy nearly as much as it did in 1900.
