pre-announcements are optional therefore no calendar.
this site might still be of use: http://www.rttnews.com/calendar/positiveearningsannouncement.aspx
Guys, thank you very much, I am most grateful. Unfortunately, all the sites mentioned so far I have already come across and they do not provide what I am looking for - companies that are going to make pre-announcements about their earnings and the dates these pre-annoucements are going to be made. It would appear this info is not easily/commonly available.
Companies only make pre-announcements when they are about to do something material (like make a significant acquisition) or if their earnings are so out of whack they can't sit on it. Or just because they are gaming some system. You won't find a calendar of this. There is some history of certain companies providing extremely detailed guidance at conferences, etc. which is like a preannouncement but you have to do the legwork to figure that out. I used to trade one stock that did that at a major industry conference. The options markets never priced it in properly.
Hello newwurldmn, many thanks for the info, much appreciated. Just wondering where these guys get their info from then for their pre-announcement earnings strategy: eraningstrader.com
They watch for pre-announcements and then study the results to come up with a trade. They don't predict pre-announcements or have a calendar. Someone is watching CNBC all day looking for pre-announcements.
