I wonder if trading via a computer/screen changed the game t such a point that nowdays mindfulness would be much more useful than jus during the open-cry period.

While both my trading and meditation practice have a LONG way to go, I can easily see how the principles and practice of mindfulness can have a substantial positive impact on ones trading.Very interesting discussion, I do practice theravada buddhism. Mindfullness it is inspired by theravada's vipassana insight meditation, but stripped down from the "dharma" part (doctrine).
I find it very relevant to the trading topic, mainly for the developing of "anatta" (non-self), an ego-less approach to existence and internal dialogue. Another point is that mediation promote the absence of cravings and repulsion, enhancing clear thinking, independence and limiting suffering (i.e from losses)
Yeah, but what happens when you start liking push ups?Treat yourself when you win.
And when you lose ?
Now that's at least 20 pushups. And repeating a mantra - I won't do that again !
Yeah, but what happens when you start liking push ups?
Hmm, I wonder what might that be...Gotta find something that the person doesn't like doing but that has a small duration to not interfere with trading.

Great for the physique too but hard going especially one arm or finger tips !Yeah, but what happens when you start liking push ups?
