power supply question

I am trying to get a second monitor running for my aspire ax3200 acer desktop.

The problem is that tech support says that because my power supply is only 220 watt, I won't be able to use any other graphics card.

Do you guys know of any way to boost the 220 watt to the min. of 300 to utilize the graphics cards?

Just replace the power supply. Not expensive and easy to do. Be sure the PSU you buy is supported by your mobo..... avoid no-name brand PSUs.

Or, just get an Nvidia NVS 290 [dualhead] video card... it runs only about 20 watts. That would be the easiest and similar cost to replacing PSU if you buy from eBay.
 
Boost?

The only real way to do this is to go out and purchase a higher rated power supply unit, paying specific attention to how the 12V, 5V, and 3.3V rails are rated.

Remember, it's not just the overall wattage factor of the unit that is important. It's ALL about the rails!!!
