Exactly.

This "they" seems to only want us scared when nothing is really going on- code orange etc.

Like you say, its truly amazing how quickly terrorism is ruled out. Remember that Queens plane crash after 9/11- same thing; we have no idea why the plane crashed except that it was not terrorism....

It's obvious to me: it must have been caused by Romulan disrupter fire. No other reasonable conclusion.

Right! I was thinking the same thing about that plane crash yesterday. They swept that under the rug and will do the same with this 'outage'.

Yeah but Kirk only had to deal with mask heads wearing cheesy black robes.

Picard on the other hand, has a Klingon on the bridge for cryin' out loud, a robot behind the wheel, and a legal advisor that could read his mind and sue him for sexual harassment anytime she wanted. PLus he has a cool accent, and doesn't speak like an old Ford trying to start on a cold morning!

The Amex will not open at 9:30 a.m.,

all cancels sent to the trading floor to cancel open GTC orders will be received and processed.
However, a hard-out will not be sent until the Amex establishes an opening session.
Advisory applies to all products: Equities, Options, ETFs and Nasdaq UTPs.

American Stock Exchange Announces Delayed Opening.

August 15th, 2003.

The American Stock Exchange announced today that the start of trading would be delayed due to the outage of a ConEd substation that supplies steam to cool the ExchangeÂ´s trading floor.

The Amex had generators on the site last evening, and its trading systems are fully operational. However, for the systems to operate in a live environment, the atmosphere must be climate controlled to maintain the functionality and integrity of the technology.

The Amex has been assured by ConEd that it is working to restore the substation as quickly as possible, and a portable generation unit has been located for the Amex in the interim, and it is in the process of being deployed. The AmexÂ´s back-up facility is fully operational and available in the event that the situation cannot be resolved.

The Amex will continue to provide status updates as they are available and as soon as a definitive opening time has been established.
