I have a feeling if they take the quarantine into June that people will start to get worked up and maybe start rioting...if this happens we are jn big trouble. I honestly don't know how much further people can go before they start to break...So far everyone has been well behaved.

If they give me $2k a month forever, I won't riot.

I forgot an important thing. The young and violent demographic, if you include the $600 a week State benefit, are making money at the rate of about $80k a year. Brilliant move by the govt. to appease. we don't need the trouble.

I was looking at that as well. The $600 a week however is only for 4 months, still a lengthy time and probably a good amount of dollars compared to what they were probably making working. Some are making more now than they were while working!!!

There is no way in hell people are going to be following these guidelines when the weather gets in a consistent warming-trend. By June? July?

You know how many folks out there do not have air-conditioning? By summer we'll be out and about, spreading this thing even further.

Really. You must think we have living expenses dated back to 1972.

Discounting high cost of living areas in order to have a more realistic measure for a single person $1200 might be enough to get by. That is, enough to pay a little rent (maybe not the full amount but a good faith payment to avoid eviction), some food, and electricity. $1200 assumes you immediately close all bills/defer all non-essential debts. This is probably what he means by "$1200 is enough". Especially after you throw in unemployment and food stamps. With unemployment at $600 a week, food stamps worth ~$200, and a $1200 stimulus most people will need to make more than $35k in order to even consider going back to work. The gubmint teet is just too sweet.
