Im not changing the goalposts to fit my narrative. You start talking in dollars, and when I point out Obama spent more dollars than Bush, you change it to percentage increase in deficit. When I point out the big increases in deficit happen under democrat controlled congress, you say republicans lit the fire, but ignore democrats threw gas on it.

Of course Obamas total defense spending is going to be higher when he came into office with a 600 billion a year defense budget and Bush came into office with a 300 billion a year budget.Thats not mental gymnastics thats common sense.mental gymnastics is trying to argue Bush was more responsible with defense spending when he doubled it and Obama kept it the same.

I guess you will try to argue next than Bush was more responsible with the overall budget even though he took a 200 billion dollar a year budget surplus and turned it into a 1.2 trillion dollar a year deficit while Obama took a 1.2 trillion dollar deficit and turned it into a 600 billion dollar a year deficit.

If republicans in Congress are so responsible with the budget why have they let the deficit increase 400 billion dollars a year in the last 2 years?

When Obama was President the deficit declined 600 billion a year.

The deficit was not the main reason for the debt. Obama's policies are the main reason for the debt. This should be obvious to any rational person who can do basic math.
