Avanex Corp, this one popped on news

16:09 ET Avanex to acquire optical components assets from Alcatel, Corning (AVNX) 1.19 +0.07: AVNX, ALA, and GLW jointly announce the signing of a definitive agreement in which AVNX will acquire ALA's and GLW's optical components businesses in combined transactions valued at approximately $63.5 mln; AVNX estimates that after the acquisitions, it will have over $250 mln in cash and 1,600
employees on the closing date.

Managed to grab some AVNX right as the news came out. Going to hold over night. We may get more buying in the morning. This should make AVNX either number one or two in this sector....

telm bumped up a little too, corv, and the other FO co's might actually pop tommorow. Guess every dog has its day.

It will be interesting to see if AVNX can hold its gains here. Bad economic news keeps coming out. But I see they actually got PAID to take some of those divisons... what a deal.

Traded some and holding some. Buying is light now though. If there was good news in the sector it might pop.( up hopefully)

ATAR has been a good little daytrader this week. New symbol, used to be Infogrames... maker of the Enter the Matrix video game which rolled out today..
vollume is way up. Its been a great scalper... FYI
