Buyers buy the Gulfstream for it's range. You can fly from LA to London with say 4 passangers.

So that Learjet 25 I was planning on leasing just won't cut the mustard? I'll have to hang my head in shame at the bath & racquets club.

More cachet? Possibly, but only among people that don't really know planes.
(Buyers as opposed to fliers)

The Falcons are better designed, have superior and stronger structures, better aerodynamics and handling characteristics and much better and more thoroughly thought out systems.

Again, what "electronics" does the Gulfstream have that the Falcon doesn't?

noisy little buggers

lear has definitely lost its luster.

maybe in 1975!

:D

Actually the G550 has about 78% more range than the 2000. And cruises about 30kts faster. BUT it costs much more to purchase and to operate. The Gulfstreams are not nearly as efficient.

"Electronics"? I assume you mean AVIONICS. What in the G550 cockpit is better than the Falcon cockpit, based on your personal experiance?

"Stock luxury"? Most of these cabin class jets have custom finished interiors. Costing anywhere from several hundred thousand to over a million dollars. IOW there is nothing in a G550 that couldn't also be installed in the Falcon if the customer wants it.

And before you start trying to impress everyone with what a big shot you are on the subject. I'm typed in both a Falcon and a Gulfstream, so I know a little bit about them.

The Gulfstream can be equipped with Plane View.

Lear has a Lear 85 coming out that has much more headroom. That’s the problem with Lear Jet the cabin height and width. But they are very fast and very efficient to operate.

If you only 5.5 not a big deal.

I can always spot a Falcon, with that slight arch in the wings.

That's nice, but I don't see anything there not readily available in other high end late model jets.

Hey, If I had a choice I would buy a 7X over a Gulfstream any day.
