[QUOTE="CaptainObvious,
We're not getting to the problem soon enough. The total breakdown of the family is a huge driver in all of this. The educational system run a muck pours fuel on that fire. These kids need something positive and proper supervision. They need much better guidance than they're getting, which in many cases is none at all. The fix is complicated and not as easy as is being portrayed.[/QUOTE]

I think you are wrong. Hollywood is so full of divorce but these children do not suffer for crimes of marijuana or drugs. They do not worry to pay fines, and they do not go to the jail with nothing to represent them in the USA law. They can have the best lawyers to talk and represent. So really is not about breakdown of family but is about is do the family have money, representation, connection to peoples of law, and money really.

These kids need something positive
I believe this is the most important part. Kids just coming of age have nearly reversed motivation energy from full adults: their desire for gain is greater than their fear of loss. So I put the emphasis far more on presenting something for our youth to gain, over more supervision. Youth unemployment needs to be brought down, not quite by any means necessary, but by extraordinary measures. Given the huge and irreversible level of productivity we have, I think we need to "make work", for our youth, and for all those who, in older times, would have been agricultural workers and no more.

I agree. Corporate America has an obligation to strengthen the communities where they do business, especially given all the tax breaks they get. Hire some of these kids for some work/study programs. Give then a path towards a real opportunity in the workforce.
I'm all for giving tax incentives to corporation that are good neighbors. The bad ones should be taxed into BK. CAT would be one I'd like to see destroyed.

but the federal reserve through the purchase of democrats (in particular) and traitor establishment republicans has has set up our system to build a larger customer base by importing as much cheap labor / hand out receivers as possible and putting them on welfare cards which they then take shopping at home depot and wal mart... etc.

The left with the establishment Rs, have essentially done the same thing to the lower class.
They don't need people to advance up to the "rentier class" as ricter would call them.
They just want more cheap worker / consumer drones.
They left and much of the republican congress have created disincentives to work or improve ones economic status by perversely removing handouts in chunks instead of phasing them out.

its really odd that you think this way and still support what the left does to inner cities and really anyone who might work their way out of poverty and handouts.

It's odd to you because you subscribe to the "hammock theory" of social assistance. From what I can see, young men, even in the inner cities and despite social assistance, still want power, esteem, and women. If they can't get access to those from work, they will deal drugs and the like (entrepreneurial income) or kill their competition outright, or both.

Lets compare the desire to work for starting wages:
our inner cities vs... mexicans and central americans...

Nobody wants to work for low wages... but if you wish to move up and out... you would if you did not have govt handouts providing disincentives.

besides didn't we see workfare instead of welfare start to work.

I don't disagree. From a voting perspective the left has an incentive to keep the downtrodden down, and the right is beholden to their corporate masters. They're all walking around with their little flag on the lapel, but their phony patriotism is trumped by greed and lust for power.

I despise hearing most of these congressman speak of patriotism and serving the public. Not a single one who voted for obamacare instead of single payer (or won't tear it down) can claim to care about the taxpayers or the country. There is no reason other than sacrificing american taxpayers with jobs to insurance companies to have that program set up the way it is. You want to do something patriotic .. make it single payer or eliminate it.
