As long as people keep blindly voting for the incumbent senator/congressperson, we will not progress.

Representatives are out for the money; and citizens are doing the same (voting for representative promising tax cuts etc.).

As long as maintaining a proper democratic republic in not priority #1, we'll go the way of most empires ... in about the same amount of time.

On a broader level, most social systems in the US are falling apart to some degree ( education, health care, policing, social security, wage gap, environmental crisis, ... ) and the corps cannot continue to succeed without a more stable country. Ordinary people are their employees, their customers, and what keeps the communities safe and where people actually want to live. Some hard choices need to be made that are not easy politically, and simply reacting to crisis as they come up just isn't working well anymore.
