Possbile explanation for awful execution in IB selling QQQ?

I sold QQQ at 09:30:02 and got almost $1 poorer a price than the tight NBBO. Executions from IB are normally decent, hence having used them for years and introducing my brother to them, but well off this time. Also the trade didn't even show in the T&S. please see attachment. reasons for awful fill?

Probably you didn't choose transmit on 09:30:02 (but earlier) so this might result from some "opening auction" (which might happen independent on separate exchanges).

I'm not an expert on this (especially not open/close related trading and i never use market orders) but don't read too much into the exact time stamp (might have "traded" earlier).

I will do a google search on "EDGX opening aution results"............

That the only reason I can think of. Direct MARKET order to this particular exchange. At open. Got what he deserve

I was surprised it executed as the order was put in the day before near the close, it wasn't executed so thought it would cancel. but it must of been put in as a GTC
