I turn 60 next week. In 60 years I have not zotted anyone nor injured anyone significantly beyond some fractured jaws.

Starting to seriously wonder if I can make it all the way through life without clipping some idiot. If someone reached into my car to grab me they are getting a .38 +P in the face. Straight up. I run .38 in my Model 66 because I can't hit anything with .357. I've signed up for a pistol course here on the Treasure Coast to try to fix my pistol marksmanship which is pathetic.

Honestly I’ve never fired one, they’re big. I believe the barrel is rifled, it fires 45 Colt as well as .410 ga. The ability to fire .410 shells is the benefit for close range self defense.

Not sure how practical they are, but if you’re concerned about accuracy at short to mid range it might be worth taking a look.

Not exactly a concealed carry weapon.

I did read that they make a good weapon for fending off carjackers. I can see that rather easily. You got a strong short range blast but dont have to worry as much about a stray round hitting an innocent bystander.

Might be good against rattlesnakes too.

410 is unsuitable for defense purposes.

Its for bunnies and squirrels. It would leave a person terribly wounded but not incapacitated so probably they could return fire. Also the skill level needed to hit anything with a .45 is beyond most people unless its a Gold Cup or something with a good spring. I've shot a nice Kimber but I gravitate towards smaller calibers for pistols. I have a Model 41 which is about the only pistol I can operate competently at the moment aside from my 66 running undersized ammo.

Gonna fix that. Sometimes for training I need a harsh instructor and I think I've found one. Wow I'm up late. Taking me awhile to adjust to East coast time.
