Maverick, I think you're right that it would be wise for Al Quaeda not to attack us the way they have in the past. However, I don't think Al Quaeda are a wise organization. They are clever and resourceful, but not wise. Just look at their motives. No wisdom there. Al Quaeda seems to lean more towards an obscession with symbolism rather than wisdom. They attacked the WTC and Pentagon because they symbloized western power. And now that they've done it with aircraft, the airplane itself has come to symbolize that "glorious" event. And the recent cancellation of flights seems to suggest that they are still obscessed with that kind of attack. I'm sure a coercive hijacking is a thing of the past. No way passengers would just sit there and die without a fight. But blowing up airplanes or subduing the passengers and crew thru non-coercive means such as poison gasses could be something they would still attempt. I think it would be difficult for them to pull off, but that doesn't mean they won't try.

OK....so if the ports are secure....the airlines are secure....the borders are secure....what happens when somebody decides to go after trains? Buses? Bridges? highways? Daytona 500? superbowl? .....unfortunately this is the new reality we live in...there will always be something you never thought of.

I agree with you as far as computer terrorism is concerend....but i disagree that this will be the only way....i think securing our ports is vital to our safety....
We should be concerned about terrorism. However, we should also be concerned about all the international activities over the last 60 years that got us into this mess. IMHO this mess is going to last for a very long time and drain resources from this country for generations to come unless we change our ways.
