Pope: "There is no Hell"

you're extrapolating or else you're being irrelevant. I was arguing that there is no hell because there is no evidence of hell and you came in and presented the door anecdote. If not to refute my position on hell, why did you post?

Of course I can't explain the door, there's insufficient information.

Of course you can’t explain the door. There was nothing to see or hear except a door opening.

What i was questioning was your declaration that there is “nothing” after death. No existence.

However, if it is as you say that there is no hell does that mean there is also no heaven?

At one time there was no empirical evidence presented by science that oxygen existed. They didn’t even know such a thing was there. But it did not negate it’s existence. It was there before it was discovered.

Just because you haven't seen hell doesn’t mean it isn’t there.

Yes, there is no heaven. Hell can only make sense within its own religious context as an "opposite" to heaven.

When clear evidence appears in respected scientific / legal journals I look forward to being able to change my view. It would be bonkers not to.

The evidence you are seeking may come too late. Are you willing to risk that? What if you are wrong. Then what?

However, what if you are right (I’m not saying you are). But in such a case you have lost nothing.

Trading is about risk management. Much of life is too. Could afterlife (in a way) be too?

Are you truely willing to bet that there is no hell or heaven? There is no stoploss with the afterlife.

In years gone by alot of evidence in scientific/legal journals has been disproven as mistaken. What was thought to be certain was later found to not be true. Just because sonething is written in a journal doesn’t make it so in reality. Kinda like a journal in trading on sim vs journal in trading real money. No guarantee that what is in either journal is reality. ROFLMAO

So you're saying I should pretend to believe in a divinity or two just as insurance against the possibility of eternal damnation? Is that really the way religion works?

I have already placed my bet.

I already told you, if proof of an afterlife and all that stuff emerges I will be forced to change my mind. Which I promise to do, immediately and without reservation.

Just because you haven't seen hell doesn't mean it could be there.

Had oxygen been supernatural, that would negate its existence.
