thats funny and a good strawman. there are always going to be bad apples in every group. the difference is what happens in that group. sex crimes like happen in the catholic church would topple every other organization in america right up the the most powerful man, the president. what happen in the church? if you are reported to the leaders of the church,those who claim to speak with moral authority,your crime will be covered up. in fact you will be allowed to commit the crime again. then what happens to those who do the coverup? they get elevated to pope. your god must be smiling right now

is it a sin for a self described all knowing and all powerful god to stand by and do nothing while his represenatives on earth commit evil on innocent children?
Oh dont worry...he is going to do something, you can be sure of that. And its going to be so much worse for them BECAUSE they were supposed to be his representatives. But you have to wait a little while for them to die before they get put in their eternal cell.
why wait? an all powerful god could surely cause a priest to go blind every time he rapes a little boy. is the defenceless victims plight meaningless to a god that calls himself loving?
if you saw a child abandoned along a deserted road and you drove by would it be a sin?
I dont want to bore you with theological doctrines, so I will give the Cliff notes version:
G-D has done everything that He has stated in His word that He would do on behalf of a fallen , blind, arrogant, lustful, prideful and foolish man...........He has paid the price of admission for man to go back home. The rest of what is required is up to us.
And make no mistake, the judgement of G-D will most definitely begin with the "church".

And in case you wish t tell me it is symbolic you may wish to do a little research.
So here is the deal.... if you are going to believe the bible - you should probably take Jesus at his word.
if you take his word seriously - you need to go to a church that has a real communion. Because when I receive worthily - discerning his body -- I am acting in faith on jesus' promises.
So - to me you have a choice -- don't believe or believe and take Jesus' word's seriously.
