And I certainly wound not say what I said to older Catholics like my mom because challenging the Pope would give them and aneurysm. (whereas as I suspect most Catholics under 65 would probably agree that the Church did far to little to clean up its molester/gay priest corruption.

You need to understand that in a thinking persons view... govt should mostly stay out of the wealth stealing and redistributing game and the people should choose to take care of the poor. If the govt wants to help the poor great. Just find a way to create the money without stealing it.

Because when you let govt do it you get an oppressive crony run central govt that keeps the masses poor and lacking in freedoms.

John Paul the second almost bankrupted the church urging freedom in Poland and freedom from progressives and their communism.

So jem doesn't like Francis because Francis is too Christlike and not beholden to the layers of complete bullshit the CC has built up around the teachings of Jesus. Dogma over Jesus. Ideology over Science.

I did not say I did not like the guy even though he may be part commie. I respect that he likes to live a low key, low bling lifestyle.

At least that makes him a consistent with his extolled philosophy -- unlike every democrat and progressive I have seen the last 30 years except Ralph Nader and a few other exceptions.

Christ was crucified by large central govt and cronies. He preached repentance and salvation to individuals not govts.

But overall I believe we should judge this recent crop of popes on what they do to clean out the bad actors in the Vatican and the Cardinals and Bishops....

So far I have seen a few words but far too little action.
Maybe most of the bad actors will dies off pretty soon, but still I have not seen any sort of solid institutional change.

Without that, I have limited respect for any Pope.
