Pop-Up Blocker for Day Trading

Better yet, just go out and get a Belkin 4-Port Gateway Router for Cable/DSL and hook your modem up to it. Most routers come with NAT ( Network Address Translation ) and for about $39.95 with rebates, you will be able to HIDE your IP address from any website that you cruise to, and it will prevent pop-ups from occurring.

I installed a Router last month and cut down on my pop-ups by 99%.

Don't waste your time with add-on's that take up storage and slow your system

Try the Opera browser.

Among its many other great features it has a pop-up blocker feature built in to it.

Overall it just beat the pants off of Internet Explorer. It's MUCH MUCH faster, better organized and more efficient than the other browsers on the market.

Try it out. You won't be sorry.

Question for the Dr. above

Does the free version of Opera work as you mentioned or just the purchased one? Also, what about the messenger pop ups that come through your computer even when no browser is open?, The only way I've been able to prevent these is to disconnect.

try adware, you can get it from lavasoft.com, it searches your hard drive and cleans up the little viruses that allow random popups.

Yes, the free version of Opera is the same as the paid.

The other messaging you're seeing is due to the settings in your OS itself. It is the Windows messaging system that needs to be looked at.

I fixed mine but I forget now what I changed.

Do a search here, I think I remember seeing a solution posted here many months ago.

Good Luck

Wow. What insight, I really appreciate it. That opera browser is tons better than Netscape, IE, and all that other over proprietized stuff. I'll try to find the setting to fix the messaging problems. Thanks.

Check out slimbrowser from www.flashpeak.com , too. Besides the pop-up-blocker function I really like the "group function" which allows you to open up several of your preferred windows and navigate through it with easy tabs.

Does Opera have any holes in it for hackers to get in? I'm concerned about moving from IE.
