You are right, he doesnt care at all, and he is definately banking on the next guy to clean it up.

I wish that someone like Christie would run in 2012, cause it is the only time we may get a chance with Republicans controlling the house, senate, and presidency, its unfortunate that there is no chance in hell of him running, as he is precisely what America needs right now.

Someone is watching Christie and will emulate his approach on the national stage as they run for the office. People will call it "Christie Lite", tho. (pun intended)
