I don’t see any pics of the the peaceful protestors attacking the police, rioting, looting, setting fires, etc.

And the unarmed people being attacked by the police at the protests were also not attacking them, looting or setting fires. Look at the videos in the link I posted. Did I mention they weren't armed to the gills and wearing bulletproof vests, loaded for bear?

In 6 to 8 weeks the momentum will have subsided. You have seen it before. In the normal course, I would agree with you because of the pandemic. But the egregious nature of police violence requires immediate attention. Your country is slipping into Third World territory with this outrageous and selective brutality. You know it's true.

There are two issues; the assault/battery, and the injury.

The assault/battery was wrong, regardless. The penalty for that wrong should, in part, be based upon the injury caused.

If the injury was self-inflicted, then that fact would affect the degree of the penalty, but would not negate the fact that the assault/battery took place, and should still be punished.

Now, my question to you: since there is no evidence that the old man wanted to risk cracking his own head open, is it still your opinion that the officers that pushed him did no wrong?

What evidence do you have other that what you heard in the news? Wait for it.

This particular incident, if actually happened as reported, is sad. The police were tasked with clearing the area, due notice was given to disperse. The man confronted the cops as they they moved their line forward to clear the area.

You can spin the actual physical confrontation if you wish, but the cop was not trying to injure the man, only trying to push him back.

The guy falls awkwardly back....

And then when the stay at home order to “flatten the curve” turns from two weeks to 4 weeks to 6 weeks, to 8 weeks..
That’s when you PEACEFULLY PROTEST.

It’s that simple, when the government asks you to do something, comply.
