I don't understand what you are saying....so , the Europeans didn't go to AFrica , capture slaves and sell them? Roots lied too? It was Africans who sailed the ships over here and sold them right? Not the cowardly Europeans? Just checking...Let me guess: You are going to say that Blacks in Africa sold them to the European captains so that makes it ok? Kind of like the French did when they soldout the Jews to Germany..It's all clear now.

Germany may change tune on slave laborers
FRANKFURT (JTA) -- In a reversal of the previous government's policy, Germany's new center-left coalition has pledged to help establish a fund to compensate Nazi-era slave laborers.

Chancellor-elect Gerhard Schroeder said Tuesday there are no concrete plans yet for the fund, but "we've already started thinking about" working with German firms to deal with compensation.

Outgoing Chancellor Helmut Kohl, who transfers power to Schroeder next week, had ruled out government participation in such a fund, saying Germany had already paid billions of dollars in compensation.

Schroeder's announcement came as increasing numbers of German companies are being named in class-action lawsuits filed in the United States by former slave laborers; they face the possibility of similar suits in Germany.

Schroeder acknowledged that firms employing forced labor under the Third Reich have a "moral duty to fulfill." But he added that the companies have a "need for protection against legal action that we have to guarantee."

After the war, a handful of German firms made one-time compensation payments to former Jewish slave laborers. But the sums involved were small, and millions of Eastern Europeans were never compensated.

It's perfectly clear. Your statement is without relevance. Slavery was rampant in Africa BEFORE the Portuguese arrived to buy slaves for supply to America etc.

If you blame the Europeans or Americans you have to attach equal or greater blame to Africans as the first offender. It's your statement which is biased or out of order, as it ignores the first and main transgressors.

It's not hard to understand.

True, but like the drug trade, slave trade was consumer driven. As far as the comparison to murder in another post, that has never been accepted, slavery however was for centuries.

The Egyptians enslaved Africans way before Europe was anything but a bunch of barbarians....

Blame the Egyptians....get restitutions for perhaps thousands of years of mistreatment of Africans by them.
 
So, because a small group of Africans sold their own people for profit, the millions of captured have no relevance...so by that token , you must be for an all out attack of most of the middle east because a small minority of fundamentalist attacked America...so, let's take out Saudi Arabia, Iran, Iraq...and say, Libya for old times sake! Im actually cool with that thinking...Question: If there were no blacks selling their own people into slavery ...can you honestly say the Europeans would have waited on the ship or gone home? Or do you think they would have gone into the jungles and captured them? Also, do you REALLY believe that all slaves were sold by other africans?
